At the heart of our community: Choir at the Radlett Festival

The choirs of St John’s and Fair Field schools in Radlett performed brilliantly at the Radlett Festival last weekend. Despite the awful weather over 100 people crowded under umbrellas to see the choir’s performance of songs from the musical Oliver during which the children also read out a narrative describing the story. Picking pockets!

The choir, lead by Helen Street, had instrumental accompaniment from Judit Igary on the keyboard, and also accompanied themselves using recorders, glockenspiels, and percussion instruments.  The vocal solos, all sung by children from Fair Field were performed brilliantly, and some of the children amusingly acted out a pick pocket scene.  The closing number ‘Oom pah pah’ was a great end to the set as the audience all joined in the chorus even though they were soaked through!
