The Arts: The Fair Field Choir 2011

Fair Field School Choir have performed brilliantly again this term! They sang at the Christmas Fair, the school Carol Concert, the Rotary Carol Concert in the Radlett Centre and, for the lucky 12, on live TV for ITV’s Daybreak. The theme this year was ‘Carols through the Ages’, which included songs from C16th to the 1980’s. The year 6 children read out the narratives superbly and also all sang amazing solos in ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Feed the World’. The lower school children sang solos in ‘Coventry Carol’ with lovely clear and confident voices. Read on...

The whole choir sang wonderfully with brilliant dynamics in ‘Zither Carol’, lovely expression in ‘Coventry Carol’, slick actions in ‘White Christmas’ and great enthusiasm in ‘Feed the World’. As usual, they were accompanied by a variety of instruments which included percussion, clarinet, recorders and glockenspiel expertly played by Vicky, Georgia and Elissa. Special thanks must go to Bernice Smith who oversaw the sound amplification at the Radlett Centre, ensuring we could hear all the soloists and instruments. Also, our accompanist Judit Igary played marvellously at every event. Well done to everyone, and thank you to all the parents who supported us this term.
