Writing! Writing! Writing! What an amazing day!

On Monday 22nd November pupils took part in their first of three ‘Writing Days’. Throughout the day each class had the opportunity to work with the up and coming author Ellie Irving. On Monday 22nd November pupils took part in their first of three ‘Writing Days’. Throughout the day each class had the opportunity to work with the up and coming author Ellie Irving. The pupils at Fair Field were incredibly enthusiastic and enjoyed the chance to pick up writing tips from a real life author.

Alongside working with Ellie, each child had the chance to witness a variety of different scenarios and problems set up around the school, ranging from the ‘Bottle of mysterious liquid’ to the ‘Secret Agent Chase’.

As part of the first writing day, children went on to produce a piece of narrative writing based on some of the events they had seen throughout the morning. To celebrate the high standard of writing across the school a selection of children were given the chance to share their work in a whole school assembly with Ellie.

This was a fantastic day, which was very much enjoyed by both pupils and staff. We are all looking forward to the next ‘Writing Day’.
