Parent partnership: Our new PE apparatus thanks to the PTA
Thanks to the hard work of the PTA and the support of all parents at events, we have been able to purchase some great new wall bars for our school hall. There has been a buzz of excitement about when each class might get to try out the new equipment.
Who are the PTA?
The PTA is a parent lead and driven organisation. It is a voluntary committee of parents who organise social events for parents and children, thus raising valuable funds for the School.
What a fantastic Christmas Fair
Thank you to everyone who supported this years Christmas Fair. We raised an amazing £2612.95, which will be used to help buy valuable resources for our children.
Congratulations 4C
Well done to class 4C who won the chocolate week competition. One final request... This Friday is cake day. Please could you bring your cake donations into school in the morning or at the end of the day. Thank you to everyone for all your donations over the weeks.
It's Chocolate Week
This week (21st-25th) we are collecting chocolate in any shape or form for our very popular chocolate tombola. Donations could be anything from a Mars Bar,Chocolate Santa, Bag of Malteasers or a box of Dairy Milk. Please bring your donations in to gain a valuable chocolate point for our class competition.
Congratulations 3D
Bottle week was a great success. Thank you to everyone who brought in a bottle. Congratulations go to 3D they managed to bring in an amazing 35 bottles. Next week is chocolate week and Mr Johnson has agreed to we can hold another competition. Raffle tickets were sent home today. If your child has not received any yet please speak to your class teacher.
Fantastic Disco raised £735.
The PTAs first event of the year raised an amazing £735 for the school. The disco was enjoyed by everyone who went, thank you to everyone who helped out on the night.
This years Summer Fair raised £2800
Thank you to everyone who supported this years summer fair we raised an amazing £2800 which the PTA will spend on equipment to benefit all of our children.
At the heart of our community: Choir at the Radlett Festival
The choirs of St John’s and Fair Field schools in Radlett performed brilliantly at the Radlett Festival last weekend. Despite the awful weather over 100 people crowded under umbrellas to see the choir’s performance of songs from the musical Oliver during which the children also read out a narrative describing the story. Lots of laughter at Film night
Over 140 children including St Johns year two came together last Friday evening to watch Despicable Me, the film was enjoyed by all and filled the hall with lots of laughter.
Fantastic Mother's day disco
Over 140 children attended a fantastic Mother's day disco. We the PTA hope you mum's are pleased with your gifts, please let us know.... The kids danced and limbod and ate food and sweets. Thanks to all the staff and parents who helped to make such a great night. The money raised from the disco (amount to be confirmed) will go towards new apparatus for the school hall.
Quiz night this Thursday
It's not to late to buy a last minute ticket for the supper quiz night, individuals or couples can be allocated to a team on the night.
Fair Field PTA Supper Quiz Thursday 17th March 7:30pm
We are holding a supper quiz social evening in the school hall on Thursday 17th March. There will be questions across a range of subjects, with audio / visual rounds and other interactive rounds to add to the fun. Tickets are £8.00 per person. This price includes a full buffet meal with desserts and nibbles. Please bring along your own wine, beer or other drinks on the night. Teams will be in groups of 6-8. You can either organise your own team of friends (use one return slip) or we can allocate you to a team if you are a smaller group, couple or individual. Places are limited, so please reserve your tickets before 14th March to avoid disappointment. So round up your partner and friends and come along and test your knowledge or just come and have a laugh. Thank you for your support.
Fantastic Supper Quiz
43 people had a fantastic time at the quiz night,with Andie Nunes team winning. Thanks very much to Mr Jay Patel (dad from Year 3) for supplying tea, coffee, hot chocolate and espresso, (Please look out for his machine at parents evening). We raised £148 for the PTA. Thanks to all who attended and enjoyed a wonderful supper and a difficult quiz by Mrs Root.
Mother's Day Disco Friday 1st April 6.15-8pm
Letters have now been sent out for the disco, £2.00 per ticket. On sale will be a lovely range of Mother's day gifts ranging from 50p to £5.00, there will also be refreshments on sale drinks from 20p-80p and hot dogs or pizza £1. Entrance is by ticket only.
Film Night: Friday 28th January 6pm OVER THE HEDGE
Letters have been sent out for film night, if your child has not received one please pick up another letter from the office. Doors open 6pm, Film starts 6.15pm, Pick up 8.00 pm, Tickets cost £3.00
£2592.00 raised at the Christmas Fair
This school year the PTA have so far raised, £2592.00 at the Christmas Fair, £99.00 selling refreshments at the lower school play, and £601.00 at the family photo day. Thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA events.
Christmas Decorations
On the evening of Wednesday 1st December the PTA will be decorating the school hall and reception area. WE NEED YOUR HELP, Please come along at 7.00pm to lend a hand, to decorate the hall making it special for our children on the build up to christmas.
Christmas Fair (This Saturday 12-2.30pm)
The Fair is finally here. This week is cake week, please could any donations homemade or shop bought, be taken to the school office on Friday morning or to the school hall at 3.10pm on Friday. What a fantastic Christmas Fair
Well done to everyone for all there fantastic efforts in donating items, helping to set up and helping to run stalls on the day. Our fantastic efforts helped to raise a staggering £2592.86, the PTA are pleased to tell you that we are going to buy new wall bars for the hall to be used in PE lessons, new cushions for all the class rooms reading areas and new furniture for the main reading area.
